Earlier this year, at the Montreal International Auto Show, the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC) announced that the 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander won Best Mid-Size Utility Vehicle in Canada for 2023, earning high marks for its feature-packed interior, performance, and safety.
J.D. Power
The 2023 Outlander also gets high marks from J.D. Power’s consumer ratings, earning a top ten spot in the compact SUV category, with the vehicle's design, performance, comfort, functionality, safety, and technology earning it a “Great” rating with 85/100. J.D. Power relies on consumer ratings from verified vehicle owners, and survey questions ask owners to rate their experience based on quality and reliability, driving experience, as well as their purchase and service experiences at their dealership. In addition, Mitsubishi Motors ranked highest among mainstream automotive brands for customer satisfaction in dealer services.
Insurance Institute for Safety
Despite toughened criteria for the 2023 model year, the Outlander was also awarded a Top Safety Pick+ designation from the Insurance Institute for Safety (IIHS), earning “Good” ratings for its crashworthiness and “Superior” ratings for its crash mitigation technology.
Ward Auto
On the strength of its design, technology, pricing and value, the Outlander earned Mitsubishi its first Ward Auto award, with judge Bob Gritzinger complimenting the automaker for a “Super job of taking it to another level with unique interior touches that allow it to stand above the crowd in this highly competitive segment.”
Best Autos
Money.com announced its Best Autos of 2023 list, naming the Outlander PHEV as a finalist in the Best SUV category based on its value, performance, handling, safety, and technology. Of note, the 2023 Mitsubishi Mirage earned top marks in its category and was named Best Subcompact Car.
